France has 70MM people, Germany has 80MM and Italy has 60MM. Introducing 100,000 immigrants to any of those countries would not be a problem unless those immigrants were all kept in a relatively small neighborhood - think cities, not small towns.
The real problem is educating the immigrants as well as the local population about the laws and customs regarding the new country as well as the old country. Yes, there is going to be 'gathering' of these immigrant groups in the cities, where rent is cheap. That has alway happened, like to the Irish, Polish, Germans, Jews, etc in the USA. Assimilation takes time, both for the immigrants as well as those already living there.
When the USA refuses to accept 10,000-100,000 refugees from Central America to join us with 350MM, it plays to the heart of bigotry. None of them want to come to the USA and live on the dole. They want to experience life as we know it. They want their children to grow up without fear and be educated.
