It doesn't look like any of the weapons were fully automatic. Most seem to have been equiped with a aftermarket stock that could be manipulated , with enough practice, to mimic automatic fire. no real accuracy, but a high rate or nearly random fire... A spray of lead!
The US govt's own BATF has ruled that hese stocks do not violate any federal law. Currently, there seems to be no action within law that they can ake! Catch 22!
Congress, with the support NRA and many gun advocasy groups seem to be working together for a change looking at ways to deal with the issue.
As usual, the more you regulate the more it seems to motivate people to find ways to circumvent the law.

This is a terrible thing, but no one really seems to be able to track down just what his guy was! A high functioning, anti social,lone wolf, maybe.

I think the story, when it finally comes out, will be extraordinarily sad.

There are many laws restricting access of firearms to the adjudicated, mentally ill. Problem is, In a free society like ours the ill are ill and have protections too.

We can't just pack up any oddball and incarcerate them. Many countries have done that in the past . The third Reich showed us where that sort of absolute authoity can lead. .

I am no ones apologist, but The rights of man must have priority in a free society or freedom is the immediate casualty and the people very soon after!

What is the solution?

I hope and pray that one will be found soon!

This whole terrible thing saddens me more than I can express here.

Just writing this is like looking into the face of one man's own private hell. I find this almost too much to bear. All my own Firearms are long since disposed of. I have lost your email, or I would love to correspond on this sad story we are seeing.
