Most likely, it's not torque steer that you're experiencing. There were a few excellent post a couple of weeks back about this issue.

It's uneven/inadequate traction and/or imprecise wheel alignment that cause all effects (mistakenly) attributed to "torque steer".

Try is with a set of decent Z-rated tires on a good flat surface, with tire pressures even between the wheel pairs, and it will go straight as an arrow.

Just felt like needing to say a few words in Volvo's defence here...
