I have a V70T5M, and, frankly, I wouldn't have considered a Volvo turbo if it were not available with a manual transmission.

The only downside I can think of is that "turbo lag". There's also gobs of torque steer, but you get used to that.

FWIW, I've pretty much decided to go with the Passat GLX "plus" (2001.5 or 2002) 5-speed wagon next...
