When the dome light or fuse blows, the chime works to tell you. Guess they figured when its daylight, you won't notice the dome out. Probably not #1 at fault. More of a dome light issue.
You can measure the draw at the fuse. Because of the poor design, lots of folks have put in an inline fuse in place of #1. Your intank pump might be dead, therefore the main pump is laboring.
While you're in there, look at fuse #16. That one has been known to melt also. I also put a inline there, but look at the FAQs, you have to leave one wire connected to it. It jumps over to another fuse. Can't remember which one.
Again. Look through the FAQs. Everything you have ask is there.
Oh. Is your engine wiring harness original? Major issue of rotting.
Hall sensor wiring. Will just short and the car will die. Replacing is easy, but pull the distributor to do it. If memory serves, 8mm & 10mm gearwrenches. Mark the base of distrib & valve cover for reinstall alignment. Also mark your sparkplug wires. Many people have put them back on wrong.(ask how I know)
Look at fcpgroton.com for parts pricing. Lot more reasonable than a dealer. And if you can't find it on there website, call them. They have great customer service.
