The others are pointing you in the right direction .
Also compression best checked when operating temp.
If engine not showing any of the other problems mentioned ( other than excess oil consumption) ,the rings on #1 may just be a bit sticky. Before condeming the engine , try a good crancase flush ( Amsoil flush good ( I sell the stuff, shameless plug) , Liqui-moly Ol Schlamm Splung is best , put it in , run 300km then change oil and filter, then run compression test again ( if you cant find the stuff it can be ordered from Roy Rogers import auto parts 1-800-648-7084)
