The spark plugs looked good, and all looked the same, and that was exactly when I said OKAY maybe it's not the head gasket.

Thanks for the reassurance- even if the #1 cylinder's rings are shot, I'm just going to put the car back together and drive it. It is the fastest car I've ever owned and for that I love it dearly.
