Green at Compression Testing- 700 1988

Thanks for the detailed input. I definitely put too much oil in the cylinder.

The 1st test performed was the #1 cylinder. I had just refilled the motor with new oil and the 1st test- 90psi. 2nd & 3rd- 60psi.

I continued on to 2, 3, & 4 and found decent readings. I went back to #1 and retested without oil in the cylinder, thinking the new oil may have needed cranks to circulate and that made for the low reading 1st time. No difference. Then I got sloppy with the oil.

To follow up- after posting I went out to the garage, removed the gauge and directed the tester's hose into a jar and cranked motor. Nothing more came out and retest is still 150. I understand this probably isn't accurate, but I need to repair the distributor before re-installation as the damn hall sensor connector snapped off.

I did not overheat the car, and it has been running fine. Once I saw the oil and coolant looked good I decided to be a bit more precise in my testing. Most of the advice I'm getting tells me it's not a blown gasket, so I think I'm going to fix the little things that were bugging me and put it back together.

Thanks again-
Dylan
