Could this have caused a melted fusebox? 700 1986

1986 745 Turbo, M46, 150,000 miles

The #1 fuse receptical melted. The 25 amp fuse did not blow which concerns me.
The clock stopped working;
The radio turns on but there is no sound;
The interior light does not work;
The door chime chimes anytime there is a key in the ignition with the doors closed, running or not;
The fuel pump sounds tired.

I noticed that the piece at the bottom of the distributer is broken. It appears to have been oil soaked and then just fell apart. It is not fastened to the distributer body anymore. Could this have shorted out against the dist. body and caused the fuse to melt?

The car has never given any trouble in 21 years and I'm not as familiar with the 700 series as pre '72 and could use help.

Oh crap. I can't get the image to appear in the post. It's in the technical gallery. Sorry about the size of the image, I was a little too quick with the trigger finger.
