There are lots of deer where I live... try mounting a set of quality halogen driving lights on or under the bumper and angling them to shine directly into the ditches way ahead. I find I spot deer that are not on the road surface well in advance as factory headlights just don't do the job. Due to highway laws here I have them tied into my high beams with a relay so they shut off when I go to low beam for oncoming traffic. Works well... 1,400,000+ kilometers driven and I've never smacked a bambi(knock on wood).
