Restore 200 1988

If you can find a car with a decent running engine, you might want to consider a top end rebuild instead of replacement. The lower end on the (unabused) B230 red block is very durable, and can easily go a half million miles. Recon the heads, replace the gaskets and seals, and maybe the wiring harnes, and any hang on parts that need replacing, and you can drive for another 100-150K. Also less expensive, and less work.

The 88 had the LH 2.2 system, before the problematic 561 ECU, so I wouldn't be too quick to replace a known working ECU.
