Wow, that's a strong statement. How do you define "sports car"?

My good friend's VW Golf GTI has soundly spanked many RWD and AWD cars in his SCCA Solo II class (G-Stock). His times are often better than "sports cars" such as the Corvette, even though they run in a faster class.

I guess I must disagree with your statement. His Golf has very balanced handling, braking and power. To me, that is the definition of "sports car".
