Not too long ago I went through something similar. I replaced all vac and PCV hoses and changed trans fluid and the problems seemed to be much better. But then every now and again it would still stall for no apparent reason.
Not too much later it stalled and wouldn't start - fuel pump dead.
I ended up replacing the whole fuel pump assembly but later discovered that my actual electric pump (the original one) was totally fine, but the wires going through the pump assembly had corroded inside the insulation and failed. When they moved they would sometimes fail to deliver enough power to the pump and the pump would stop.
I think around this age/mileage it's time for everyone with this symptom (random stalling, usual vac/PCV/tune-up stuff is done) to start thinking about this.
I also found that when I tried to run new wires on a pump assembly and seal it with gas tank epoxy I had some serious trouble. the epoxy won't bond to the wires' flexible insulation. What you need to do is run bare copper wire (like the ground lead from 14 gauge household wiring) through the assembly and seal against that. Then solder your wires onto the bare wire. That seems to seal well.
It's worth looking into.
