My '72 164e, a low miles/clean car which I've had for about a year, is having a mysterious idling/fuel mix problem. I just recently installed a new A/C system, which, when running, severely exacerbates a problem of stalling out in neutral. I don't work on the car myself much, but my mechanic, who's got 40 years with Volvo, has a few ideas--though (of course) he's leaving for vacation tonight. He suspects the "coolant temperature sensor" and/or the "thermal sensor," both located near the auxiliary air valve--which I just replaced a few months ago. Any ideas on this?
