You don't have a turbo, do you?
Drive-on ramp + floor jack under oil pan + big hunk of timber + "wide-body" mechanic in between + reaching both hands under turbo leaves no room to work.
Add to this oil leaks already from nearly evey oriface identifyable =
I just didn't want to risk also mashing the oil pan gasket in the process, while laying between and under a poorly supported engine.
Lifting from the top is much more reliable, adjustable and safe.
I have done my 240's with floor facks fro below. But with them, you can still see the sky from down there.....
