Ron: I applaud your tact in the previous reply. I can't tell you how many times I have read (here and in our little British car group up Cleveland way) about the poor sod who DRIVES a perfectly running car into the garage, doesn't get back to it for a year or so, and then, when it doesn't start right up again after storage, commences to fiddle with the timing, mixture, needles, dwell, gap, floats and balance, and then wonders why the blasted thing is impossible to start! Common sense would dictate that if the car was running when you put it away, none of the above would go out of adjustment by themselves, and fiddling with them just made the whole thing worse...like once off of your base line, you've created major troubles. Understanding that a point and coil ignition and and SU carb setup are the two most simple systems ever devised for automotive use, the old adage "keep your cotton-pickin' hands off" was never more true. Thanks for the reminder.
