I've had plenty of clunks and looseness from worn out tie rods, but never a pull from them. HOWEVER- a bad tie rod end could definitely result in a bad alignment, because the setting could change going down the road. If you can feel any play in any inner or outer tie rod ends, replace them. THEN bring the car back for another aligment. Usually a shop will tell you "we can't align this car right because something's worn out." But they don't always catch problems with the inner's. Have someone work the wheel side to side whileyou put a hand on each tie rod joint. You should not get ANY play in them, or the ball joints. If anything's loose, it's bad, replace it. Inner tie rods are the only moderately expensive part in the front end.
