My parts guy supplies a rebuild kit for the MC $12.00, or a new one for $40.00. I have rebuilt a couple of MC in the past, one honed up nice but didn"t last more than a year, ther other didn't need honing and lasted longer than I had the car (a few years at least). I depends on the situ. maybe if you have access to the kit and can afford a little down time on the car, pull the MC, disassemble, and if the bore is good rebuild. It's more of a hobby kind of thing as the MC is pretty cheap new, but also it's satisfying too. Make sure you bench bleed the MC as it makes it possible to install the MC without breaking off teh caliper bleeds as you try to bleed them, I just back up the front cals pistons a bit after the MC is plumbed in. Re: tools, except for the hone thing nothing special, snapring pliers etc...
