I bought a 92 965 about a year and a half ago (without hesitating because of its good looks), later I was warned for porous engine blocks and broken timing belts in this very Brick Resource. A porous engine block would cause problems much sooner than 188.000km, and the timing belt was fine.

It's just a matter of taking care of the car. It's wise to check and change some things regularly, like you would check and change things on any car. There's is no guarantee that nothing will ever happen.

Now, some 50.000km later, I am actually very happy with this car. Due to the lame image, people are actually amazed of what the car has or can do. Any other car (over here in Europe) will cost a lot more, if bought with the same leather seats, airco and stuff. It's a good alternative (maybe even better) for an expensive BMW or Mercedes of the same age.
