Canadian:US Daytime Running Lamps 900 1992

Hard to imagine, but I am a fan of daytime running lamps. My kid's 1992 940 has the usual pre-1994 US lamp setup: no DRL. In examining the wiring diagrams, it appears that the only differences between the US non-DRL and Canadian DRL configurations are in one wire into the headlamp switch, and the switch itself. Has anyone converted a US-spec car to Canadian-spec DRL using a Canadian headlamp switch?
