Hello Steve:

The daytime running lights became standard here in Canada in 1990. It should be possible to get a switch from a Canadian boneyard (good time to do it, the exchange is 1.55 right now!). Why not set the US spec switch to on/off with ignition and pull the switch button off? Same result, but a $0 modification!

Funny thing-- the study that showed the benefits of daytime running lights was US, but the recommendations were adopted by the Canadians!
