Your Kid'll still be able to drive without DRLs unless I'm mistaken...

On our (1995) US-spec 940, the DRLs can be defeated simply by putting the switch "in between" any two of the three positions, and my wife habitually does this.

-It seems we're not the only ones to know this; -our neighbors also drive their identical 1995 940 around without the DRLs on... I can't begin to recount how embarrassing it is to blow a kiss to your neighbour by accident!!!
