Re: HOW TO CONVERT FROM LH 2.2 TO LH 2.4? 700 1989

I wonder if it is makes any more financial sense to 'upgrade' to an LH 2.4 ECU and ignition module than to find a third party EMS. If memory serves me correctly, you will need both components and a new wiring harness as the LH 2.4 ECU has a different pin out.

For the dollars and sweat equity involved in staying with a Volvo EMS, Haltech or similar will give much more bang for the buck. And, after all, I have the sneaking suspicion that where you want your car to be will not be supported properly by any Volvo EMS.

I realize you know all this, but perhaps it is time to just bite the bullet...

P.S. Ken Carillo had problems running lean at 11 psi with just the Unitek cam and LH 2.4. If you go for the entire head sowewhere down the road, I don't see you getting anywhere near the proper amount of fuel with a Volvo EMS.
