Just for fun put a dry rag in your hand, and hold it over the tailpipe while someone revs the engine a bit. See if the exhaust flow is related to rpm. If not then the converter may be partially blocked.
If the engine idles smooth it isn't related to one cylinder. Something is affecting them all.
