b230ft engine swap 1989

The only sensor which is different between LH 2.2 and LH 2.4 is the Engine Coolant Temperature sensor. The ECT for LH 2.4 doubles for both ECU and EZK, and is two resistors in parallel. It is the same resistance to temperature curve as LH 2.2, and is internally grounded. The LH 2.2 sensor is externally grounded, on the intake manifold. The LH 2.4 sensor works fine on LH 2.2, but the LH 2.2 sensor will not work on LH 2.4.

In summary, you can substitute the ECT backwards, but not forwards.
