Yeah, I guess I would confirm that - a little lean in the low/midrange. I guess I could drop the jets a couple of flats. I bought a new B20 007 centrifugal advance distributor a couple of years before the rebuild of the B20. Right now I have a chopped 67 onepiece for the exhaust and an aluminum intake. But still have another 67 complete one piece int/exh and may go back to that.
Something I never dealt with was the fact the intake mainfold (from a B18 of course), has recesses for indexing rings into a carbed head and my E head has not(hing).
I like the engine fine on the road above midrange, but it does seem to stumble or seem a tad lean on acceleration lower down. Maybe I'll see If i can find a pair of DX needles. I am going for the mileage/economy factor and seems like DX needles will be sucking more gas upon acceleration based on Sil's needle profile info.
Any ideas about how to deal with the SU intake manifold to E head matchup? Is this a big issue?
Heliarc and grind to match the head? Are the intake ports on the E head larger than the ports on the SU intake manifold?
thanks
