Way back in the day when our beloved cars were being built,and CHP was driving 400 CI Dodges, I spoke with a gas station attendant who told me that their oil was always THAT fresh.
CHP Cruising speed was a little higher then @100-110.
Could be an urban legend,don't know for sure.
Any way my point is that high engine speed,and resulting oil temperature reduces oil life quickly.
Gas was $ .33/gal and bread was $.33 per loaf. It's all relative and 35 years later.
