SRS light malfunction 1988

Hello Randy:

Pull the driver's seat and work backwards from the sensor-- you can see it without actually removing the seat, but there isn't enough room to get at it. It is easy, 4 bolts.

The wires are encased in orange plastic, and are impossible to miss once you have the carpet pulled up a bit.

I'm not sure if your parts car is a direct swap, but I do recall that the Bosch part numbers are on top of the units.

Cleaning corrosion in the connectors is a good first start. The SRS lights are known to come on with low system voltage-- other than that, I have no specific insight beyond the knowledge that the self diagnostics on these things is less than perfect. A sensor swap sounds sensible, as does an examination of the clockspring.

Good luck!
