SRS light malfunction 1988

Herb,

I got a bit of time today to chase the SRS light in the 88 744t. Tracing the wires from the sensors under the seat to these connections along side the relay panel. I have a yellow and also an orange connector. The wires themselves were encased in a black plastic from the sensors up to the connectors.

I found both connectors to have seemingly spotless contacts but cleaned them some since I was there.

I have removed the airbag. Once I remove the steering wheel will the clockspring be visible and is there anything in particular I can look for that might indicate it being the source of my problem.

I have not checked my 90 parts car for compatibility of the components. I see I have to get a tamper proof torxs insert to remove them and I currently do not have one of the correct size.

Thanks for any insight.

Randy
