Well Jarrod in view of your rather unique experience I would definitely recommend that you maintain your preheat system, that would be best for peace of mind. Be sure that the thermostat is working properly to avoid MAF sensor damage however. Now that the truth is known about it's true function maybe this will start a trend amongst the more environmentally conscious Bricksters.
