Really does sound like a high voltage problem.
Check over those newly replaced components (you changed the rotor too?). Make sure the cap is on correctly and seated.
If this all looks OK. I would get it started and then look under the hood at night to see any sparks. Then get out a spray bottle and spray water on various wires and ca[. Don't forget the coil. Also check the wire which runs from the ignition box to the distibutor, although it's unlikely to be any worse in the rain.
