I recently had to do this job on the driver side rear door and was cut up before I finished. Try putting tape around the edges of any openings in the sheet metal before starting and most, if not all, of the cuts and nicks can be avoided. I knew better but didn't know how contorted my hands would have to be until it was too late. I didn't think it was worth the effort until I was already cut by the edges of the opening.
