Occassional morning sickness 200 1993

Hi, I have a '93 5-speed 245, and it is a really great wagon! However for the past year, I had a hard time starting it up in the mornings. Yes, mornings only although not every morning.

The engine cranks, and once it fires up, I had to be very careful not to give it quick gas or it would just cut off and take forever to start again. When it starts again, the engine misfires/skips for several seconds before smoothing out

If I was careful to accelerate it slowly up to 3k rpm and engage gears while staying at high rpm, it runs ok...but if sharp acceleration, it stumbles.

After running for about 10 minutes, all of those problems disappear. It runs, accelerates and starts up great for the rest of the day. MPG awesome.

Morning starts are the problem after overnight parking it seems. Possible overnight build-up of moisture? If so what would be suspectible parts?

Oh, I had a new ICU replaced, so that should be ruled out as a problem.

Many many thanks!!

-DS
