Sounds like your independent parts swappers have been passing you some mythic misinformation.
"When the oxygen sensor was changed..."
• Hope they swapped in the correct Regina type sensor. A Bosch won't work for long, and will cause an excessively rich mixture.
"The 02 sensor sends signals to both the fuel and ignition ECUs."
• Not so. The O2 sensor connects only to the FI ECU.
"And the Rexx Regina system is prone to developing a whole subset of its own flakey problems."
• Totally without basis in fact. Name one problem unique to the Rex (one "x") Regina system. I've been driving a Rex-Regina 940 for 7+ trouble-free years. And during that same period here on the BrickBoard, I've seen absolutely nothing to support such an absurd allegation.
