Lower A Arm Bushing (Rear of A arm) replacing. 200 1989

Just be careful torching the rubber out of the old bushing shell. It's nasty stuff, slow burning, and won't quit burning until it's all consumed. The local indie guru/mechanic accurately descibed it as being like "napalm". Take the bracket off the car.

When I torched the rubber out of the track/panhard rod bushings this summer, I was swinging the rod around the back yard trying to fan the flame out. No doubt it looked kinda like some bizarre religious ceremony. :-)
