Hello
My 96 850 Non Turbo is due for its 70K service which includes the Timing belt change.
Now should i replace the water pump at the same time or not????
HAS ANYONE HAD A WATER PUMP GO ON THEM?????? AND AT WHAT MILES??????????????????
Usually, from my understanding the best idea is to relace the pump at the same time as the timing belt and save the future hassles with the pump going out.
My volvo dealership service manager tells me otherwise. He said that the water pumps never go on the Volvos and usually should be changed arounr 120K or so.
Is this true?????
He also said that the Volvo tech mentioned that it is a "pain in the butt" to replace the water pumps................. so.............
Should i still replace the pump for good measures (i found a small shop that will do it a lot cheaper with parts i found online) OR stay with the advice of risking not replacing the water pump????????????????????
Any and all suggestions would be appreciated
Ali
