If it was water or moisture intrusion, you have a good chance of corrosion build up which causes electrical resistance to increase. This alone will mess up signals going to all those wonderful computers etc. in these cars. Reminds me of the old days and bad battery cables. Starts perfectly cold, no start hot or warm. Operated on the cables and they were loaded with corrosion.
