ok, there you go again, you work for xemodex or what? I said the Marin and Berkeley, CA volvo dealers both claim they can and will install and reprogram the $150 ETM throttle body that I purchased. Here you go saying nobody will install it??? What gives?
Like I said before and I will say it again, the volvo dealer already told me, that they have done this before and can and will do it. Ok, so xemodex replaces the wipers with the same technology used in the originals, so why would they "never wear out?" I don't get it.
The idea of taking off 4 screws removing a cover and popping in a new position sensor, putting the cap back on and tightening 4 screws sounds like childs play to me. When I said it would be nice to have those components available so people can fix their cars and save money, I think its a genuine good idea.
When my mechanic takes my ETM off the car and then pops in new position sensors which probably only cost $1 to manufacture, I think that would be proper way to solve this problem, not being dependent on some 3rd party middle man company that is charging a massive premium to do something a 5th grader can do.
Even with the xemodex product, you still have to pay your mechanic $200+ in labor to swap out the throttles, so really, where do you come off saying, that you don't have the same labor costs with the refurbished unit and a used one? The labor of removing and installing is still there.
For the ulitmate DIY or low cost solution, what volvo owners really needs to know is where to get those resistive wipers from? Who makes them? Who is the OEM?
Thanks
