Is a four year old electronic throttle control module compatable with your fourteen year old car ?
If I'm reading your post correctly, you bought a 2007 ETM off a 1999 car. It does not look like the Volvo part numbers are the same for those years. xeMODex lists different units for cars up to 2002 and after 2002. Did the 2007 ETM run on the 1999 car ?
You can always put the part on and see if it blows up your engine control electronics. You can probably search online and find out if that is likely. It is not difficult to do. Most of the time is spent removing and replacing the duct work.
I just bought a xeMODex ETM for our 2004 V70. It was $465 delivered and did not require any progarming.
You can remove the cover from your existing ETM and clean the resistive contacts and wipers. If the gears are shot, you are out of luck.

I think Xena's carb is jetted incorrectly.
