caliper slide pins question

I like your answer, just not looking forward to freezing fingers in the garage. It is a tin metal-to-metal sound. At first I thought it might be the heatshield falling down on the shaft, but I swear I fixed that 3 or 4 years ago :)

Brake shield should touch all of the time, not just when the engine is cold, if it is rubbing agains the rotor.

I did "fix" the heatshield for the gas tank.

I guess it is time to jack 'er up and take a look. I need a new piece of cardboard to slide on, mine is now dirty on both sides :)
