I spent the day under it Mats - there's no way do to what you're saying on mine. The guy who did the exhaust must've bent the passenger head pipe, removed the header and fit the pipe in from the top (the flange and flare will not come out the bottom with the engine in because of interference with the starter); and then welded on the next piece of pipe and next flange. The only way the passenger head pipe will come out of the car is if the engine is removed. Fun, huh?
I don't want to beat up the sheet metal - not gonna do that. I have the mini starter - but that pipe is good and truly stuck. I did trim the control arm mount to not avail - it still won't come out.
Believe I'm gonna bite the bullet and order some Sanderson block huggers that exit right behind the motor mount on each side. Hopefully I can use both of them, but if I can't, that will allow me to use the Sanderson on the pass. side; FRPP shorty on the driver's side - and 2.5's from there back.
Looks to me and my muffler wiz Mats like an X-pipe will go in just fine right behind the tranny crossmember. Check out TX50 pics (see previous post) - he has an Xpipe on his.
