I think he meant the Volvo T5 engine? Although I can't say if that engine was offered in a RWD, longitudal configuration that would be easily swappable. Or what the overall dimensions of the engine/trans are.
This is kinda uncharted territory here. From what I've read, all V8 conversions have been automatics - mainly because so much interior intrusion is required that there is no room left for the clutch pedal...
The 240 series definitely came in many A/T configs. Swapping one of those may be possible.
