I bought a pack of the clips off of Ebay. They are identical to the stock clips.

I recently refurbished the spears on my 1800. I had lots of grocery cart dents, some pretty bad. I used a tiny flat punch and a small hammer with a piece of wood.Very light taps. Once I had the dents roughly popped out I used a light metal file to bring the surface true and followed up with increasingly fain grits of sandpaper. Took about 3 hours to do all six sections. Be careful with pressure or you might tear the steel. Still need to go through steel wool and a polish.

It turned out better than I thought it saved a couple hundred $ I might have spent for replacement spears.
