When taking out the dents with a punch and hammer it helps to use a black marker to serve as a guide. Color the area that you are looking at and then lightly use a fine flat file to reveal the highspots. This is the technique I learned from a book called "How to Restore Metal Auto Trim" which I bought at the local Borders and it worked very well. I bought a set of junkyard hubcaps, fixed them up, and now they look great. Saved lots of money.
