Tools: Sockets 6 point or 12?

The six point are stronger and beefier, and with a fine tooth ratchet you can place them with just about as much ease. But, they have thicker sides/walls than a 12 point, especially impact grade, and there are times that a quality thin walled 12 point is the only thing that will fit in a given space to be able to use a socket and ratchet.
