Heater Control valve - Alternatives? 200

I was looking a little closer .... It seems the PO had worked under the dash. I remember some disconnected vents and the vacuum lines were disconnected as well.

Perhaps the hoses are crossed. If this is so I am getting water from the pump through the heater core and then it is stopped at the valve.

What if I cross the lines at the firewall?

Worth a try.... AFTER I check the t-stat.
