Heater Control valve - Alternatives? 200

Miguel,

The lame pump was one from WAP (local store) I bought just for the return pipe o-ring one rushed Saturday morning working on a different car. There was no name on the casting; only a white box with the Airtex name. The flash of rust you see was after only one day of use, basically installing and then removing when it didn't want to keep up at idle.

The pump on the right is HEPU. So far I like those pumps.

Before swapping the pump, give heed to Stoney's experience with the sticky tstat; it is certainly an easier, cheaper fix.

If you go to the old valve, after doing the new style, you're probably going to need a hose, I guess. Well, you'd know if you had to cut a hose when you converted.
