Remote Trunk Opener 200 1982

Hi Bob,

Caveat—This is from memory...

I had collected several JY trunk solenoids (both styles) when I installed my 1st one on my '80 gle V8 back around '96. It was the push-pull, and a direct fit as I recall. Holes for the solenoid mount already there.

When that solenoid failed some time later, all I had left was a rotary (gave the others away for use as door latches on a street rod). But I seem to recall it being a PITA to relocate (i.e. drill) at least one solenoid mount screw hole in order to get the solenoid positioned properly.

So my "recollection" is that the earlier cars had the push-pull solenoid, at least that's what I installed most easily in the '80 trunk lid. Anyhow, I can attest to the fact that either will work, but one was easier for me.
