740 auto shifting issues

Hi folks,
My '91 745 automatic has started to have a shifting problem which I don't undrstand. As background, it has 185k, has had trany fluid flushed every 30k. Fluid level is fine, and color is fine. On heavy throttle acceleration, all is fine. However, on moderate acceleration, the shift points are delayed, ie: it will run first gear to redline, then hard shift to second. Then, after reaching say 40+ mph and being in 3rd or 4th gear, if you let completely off gas, it starts to "buck" as if it is trying to downshift or hunt for a gear. This bucking is not affected by removing the lock-up solenoid that is run by the button on side of shift lever -same sense of bucking. RPM's are not changing significantly while this bucking is happening, and stepping back on gas completely elinimates it.

Does any of this ring any bells out there? if not, can someone tell me what the components are that control the shifting? I know the transmission cable is tight at the engine end, and seems to be at its normal settings. I don't know if there are vacuum elements in the shift control series, or other things to start checking.

Thanks to all,
Mike
