Get the sending unit from the pick and pull yard. Make sure your fuses are not corroded and not making good contact..I have had more than my share of fuses acting up..This might also explain your window problem. You did not say if it was a certain window or all or them..The biggest problem I have seen with the windows are the switchs. They tend to not make contact internally.. I have had to take them apart and I silver soldered new contact points on each pin that the rocker hits.
